The SkyCaddie SGX is one of the top-end models from the Skycaddie range. At over $300 you really do need to ensure it is right for you before you part with your hard earned money. I recently purchased the SGX and like most people had a problem trying to register the product. When I tried to sync on my computer with Windows 7 and 64 bit, I never did get it to sync, so I took it to office and was able to work on my XP machine. The have a temporary fix for Windows 7, but real fix will come shortly. As far as use and ease of use, this is the best GPS I have had and I have had a previous sky caddie and most recently a upro. What I like best is the clearity of the screen and how fast it reads the yardage. As with any product brand new on the market, there are normally a few bugs, but this product is worth the hassle. I would have given it 5 stars if it did not have the sync problems.

The SGX has a number of mixed reviews and although a lot of people do like the SGX there is one thing that really annoys me about these new golf gadgets. There is only a 30 day warranty which I assume is because these devices are expected to be given a tough time as they are thrown into golf bags. And are likely to be used in all sorts of weather conditions.

I'd be happy to pay a little extra and buy something which is a little more robust and can stand up to all sorts of weather conditions. If you can spend a little more for something that has much better Waterproof then I suggest the Garmin Approach G5.
